ACTIVITIES

Get ready to explore Vancouver! Known for its unrivalled natural beauty, this city is an eclectic urban centre cradled by mountains and forests.

Summit attendees can experience Vancouver at its best by participating in one of these exclusive and exciting activities on Wednesday, May 6, from 1:30 to 5:30 pm.

Activity 1: Grouse Mountain Eco Walk, Bear & Owl Tour + Eye of the Wind Pod Experience

This is your chance to get up close and personal with the plants and animals that inhabit Grouse Mountain. A knowledgeable guide will take you across the mountain plateau and the serene Blue Grouse Lake area.

How do you know when grizzly bears are playing or when they really mean business? Why do ravens hover in the sky more at certain times of the day? Your guide will give you the low-down on all things furry and feathered, along with some close views of these fascinating creatures.

You'll also take to the skies in the world's first and only wind turbine that allows you to stand in a clear glass viewPOD at the top of the tower—just three metres from its massive, rotating blades. Take in the 360-degree views as you come face to face with the future of responsible energy.

Activity 2: Downtown Eastside Hands-On Community Outreach

Prepare for an eye-opening tour of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where you’ll have the opportunity to help out the community in a real, direct way.

Opened in 2012 by Mark Brand, Save On Meats is dedicated to serving the diverse population in the Downtown Eastside. Each day, Save On Meats provides sandwiches for underserved residents in the community through their token program. Join in the magic by helping to make and hand out 300 sandwiches to those in need.

A guided tour through the Downtown Eastside will also bring you to several establishments that are challenging the status business quo. Hear about their diverse perspectives, struggles, and most importantly, the benefits of running a socially minded business.

Activity 3: Grouse Mountain Tree Top Adventure Ziplining + Eye of the Wind Pod Experience

Grouse Mountain's dual-line, five-line circuit offers an adrenaline-pumping tour across peaks and canyons. The zipline experience will give you a truly unique perspective of Grouse Mountain, combining heart-pounding thrills with an exploration of BC's old-growth forests. Enjoy every second of the jaw-dropping scenery. Because it goes by fast. Crazy, awesome fast.

The tree-top adventure continues with an inspiring trip in the world's first and only wind turbine that allows you to stand in a clear glass viewPOD at the top of the tower—just three metres from its massive, rotating blades. Stand in awe of 360-degree views as you come face to face with the future of responsible energy.
